I'm not going to move 10 Gigs of well organized photo folders just because digiKam wants to create its own albums. Its inability to browse folders (that's so dumb!). Still I would be willing to use it if it wasn't for: It lacks a lot of the features and ease of use I'm looking for. So far the best software I've used in ubuntu is digiKam, but it's still years behind AcDsee. They may be enough for mommies who want to sort a few pictures of the last vacation, but they are definitely not suited for power users. Everything in the same program.Īll the software packages I've tried in Ubuntu are just too basic (gThumb, fSpot, even infraviw through wine). In a few words, AcDsee has a lot of very advanced and useful features, yet they managed to make it easy to use. Simple (yet very useful) image editing, without having to open Photoshop or Gimp. Supports customizing actions, like renaming, when copying files to a folder with duplicate names (I love this one because my camera always starts naming pictures from IMG0001.jpg).
